Last of the three radio plays running up to next weeks show but by no means at all the least. Its one that Janto fans will probably love and tackled the immortal-mortal issue head on. I don't mono-ship immortals or quasi immortals but this one made me feel the ship while acknowledging that Jack has lived and loved before and will again even if a miracle happens and Ianto lives to collect from the most well stuffed pension fund in Great Britain. Jack's response to Ianto's unloading his heart to him while he's in a coma was lovely and just right for the situation both are in and I do have to say that if next week goes badly for Ianto, that comment of Jack's would soothe the pain for me - the boy is loved and will be remembered.
There's also great Rhys, acting in the companion role for Gwen and being both practical (door kicking in) and nurturing (mug of tea and truckers breakfast) to keep her going to do the outside the hospital sleuthing and reminding the audience how great and real he is and how their relationship has developed.
Phil Ford did a great job in not just doing a good threatening normal object of the week and completing the refresh the audience on the characters with Rhys and Gwen/Rhys plot but in the simple human drama too. Definitely worth a listen.
