Heroes Re Nathan: He's already got regenerating blood in him.
They didn't go for the head shot.
They said shot rather than killed in the news report.
It's not even a comic book death. It's just a cliffhanger. Guy will be fine.
Someone really needs to fill Hiro in on the blow away the brain, no problemo method of removing regenerators.
But at least it means that we will get Adam back and mad as hell about literally being buried alive in a futureissues volume.
I'm not unhappy to lose Nikki, as much of her storylines have sucked like a sucking thing but coupling exiting her by turning the wonderfully competent Monica into a helpless ball of crying really pissed me off on multiple levels, especially given the shows frequently skanky race and gender issues. I do hate that one potential reading is helpless black female gets white woman killed owing to being useless at a pinch. Plus, gangsters that go to the trouble of setting a fire rather than just shooting her - way too Perils of Pauline for a post Evil Overlord Handbook era. And after all the incredible reaching in Who meta I find the Maid of Orleans thing more than a bit problematic even if the comic shown uses the 'Saint Joan' version of the name. Maybe if they'd had Monica active as a superhero on the streets and known under that identity the attempted burning would have been less problematic storywise.
I also hate myself for being unhappy that shooting Maya wasn't allowed to stick as I think the gross repetition of her scenes in the first half of the season combined with all the crying and the whining and the stupidity has left the character un-salvageable.
Sylar is now Evil Popeye - which is funny - and he's one of the 'verses supervillians. It's a filmed comic book; of course he's going to come back - it's in the show's DNA
The Matt/Nathan landing scene was priceless. If they're going to that a lot Nathan better hope for a super-chiropractor.
Goodbye West, please don't hurry back. No, I mean it. Maybe Sylar can eat his brains in the next volume. *Hopes*
Hiro seeing Nathan again and being happy about it was lovely, as were the brothers reunion.
Angela so agreed in advance to shooting Nathan - and that's why it wasn't a head shot. It was a warning to all of those wanting to go public. Is so glad she isn't dead yet
Nathan doing the 'I'm a mutant speech' spokesman - he's Charles Xavier, so I won't be surprised if there's not a spell in a wheelchair coming for the guy.
Noah as Steve McQueen as Hilts the Cooler King in that perennial Xmas classic, 'The Great Escape' - priceless.
Morally grey deeply fucked up Noah - just as much. More deeply fucked-up Bennets please.
Veronicia Mars was better this week in the acting stakes - thought that's not saying much.
Bob's fishing photo - also joining the priceless stakes. I'm sure Noah will fuck his shit up nicely next volume, and it makes sense he isn't dead yet if they want to explore the Bennet's and Bishops's as shadow doubles further.
Mohinder - was very, very pretty and less dumb, which is always good.
Matt preping the jounos for Nathan's speech and Nathan asking him to - they are their parents children.

I laughed my head off. I'm so glad they didn't kill Bob.

Aren't they just. The team-up of Matt and Nathan has been one of the highlights of this part of the season.

And even if the effect of the blood isn't permanent, Peter is standing right there!

I was rather pleased with that because that means they don't have to do a "No, he's not really dead" resurrection plot to bring him back, they had already established how much he had hated to be locked up for years, and he murdered Hiro's father. By burying him in the same graveyard Hiro came up with a fate worse than death and which allows the return of a hella pissed off Adam. (True, Hiro should have read the evil overlord's handbook and killed him outright-- and if any TV character rather than "Chuck's" Chuck and Morgan would have done so, it would be Hiro. But on the whole I liked it for it's degree of "Oh, he'll hate that!" and the avoidance of needed yet another "he's not really dead" plot.

True. Adam is going to be so pissed off when he gets out. It will be a thing of beauty.

I did get one idea that probably won't play out - what if Adam is Nathan's dad? T'would explain the regenerative powers of Claire.
