Nathan! That was a well done emotionally satisfying redemptive death.
Though if he's actually dead I'll be gobsmacked. That was pure comic book death and if Peter can Rogue everyone else's powers I don't see why Nathan can't have one little secondary mutation like Diamond Form. He's the pragmatic rogue archetype, I don't see why he can't have his archetype sibling Emma's way out of Genosha go Boom as well.

Peter! Also so not dead. Wolviecan regenerate from incineration. We saw Claire do the same after Ted. It's a no-brainer. He'll just have the Angst of OMG My Brother Killed Himself To Save Me until at least sweeps, as I reckon we will start S2 thinking Nathan is an ex-Nathan.

He might have stood a chance of being properly dead if Hiro had gone with the always follow the stab with a decapitation. Preferably also a take out the heart and incinerate the parts separately followed by scattering.

Claire! Didn't have to kill the man she loves/her uncle (yes, I am going to Hell - at least the music's good) but she was nerving herself up to do it. Is glad she didn't have to as I love unbroken Team Free-Will Claire and want to continue doing so. Especially as she combines both Granny and Daddy B's pragmatism with a heroic commitment to doing the right thing. Loved her jump.

I like that Niki has integrated herself and they did it effectively through both her going through with her good choices but also fighting herself - and managed it without and pity-partying or character destruction. I also liked her going at Sylar and was miffed she was told to leave/called back to badly wounded hubby by her kid. Yes, female characters, if they are redeemed, are often via kids or wounded significant others, but it is a tired trope and it you are going to make the girl the Hulk and the guy Kitty Pryde it would be nice to have the girl Smash - and then do the right thing and care for the wounded. I did like the family shot of them with Molly and Micah though. The next generation of Heroes already set up - though Molly will have to go off with Mohinder to keep her Legacy Virus free and him out trouble first. Also, so M & M&M don't grow up as adopted siblings - the Petrelli-Bennet clan having sewn up the bad-wrong on this show.

Matt. Matt. Matt. You have a guy from Alias take some handgun slugs to the chest and a cute kid ask him not to die on American telly. I saw Vaughn shot with machine guns, for ages, and the funeral and didn't buy that. Add the cute kid factor - so coming back. Though hopefully not attached to his boring wife.

Daddy Bennet has a name! And a plan. Of course he has. He's Daddy Bennet! And he was just that awesome and adorably pragmatic and devoted. Adores and if anyone has any Daddy B at spy school with Arvin and Jack, link a girl, please.

Hiro did the smart thing when faced with the 'boy hostage' problem from the Batverse. He took him out of the equation and did it with full respect -which I loved - and doing that left him with his heart. His heart was safe in Tokyo when it came to use the sword. I'm sure he'll be re-united with his heart after the trip to feudal Japan. Not only because it's poetic, but it's practical. Ando as companion gives the character someone to let in on his thought processes/pov. But in the meantime - Ando meets up with a TARDIS crew) would rock.

I do wonder if Mr Deveaux will turn out to be not only Not Dead but also the S2 Big Bad Worse than Sylar. That person can see Molly when she looks for them and he could see Peter even though he's invisible. Though Mama Petrelli would also rock as that figure. I didn't like the 'love' speech though from Mr D - it smacked a bit too much of the mystical negro trope.

I adored the cutaway to Hiro at the end. The build up of the OMGWTF_FEUDAL JAPAN OMG not only left me with an absolute I need Heroes: Generations now! feeling it also provided an up ending without disrespecting the (comic book)Dead characters or making the survivors look like pond scum. It's the same external OMG that Rusty used in Doomsday and worked just as well in the emotional and keeping the story momentum senses. Kudos.

Kirby Plaza. So with the Stan Lee cameo, the Silver Surfer pimping ahead of hte movie coming out and the character called Claremont, this is this weeks quid pro quo for Marvel not suing?
