I liked it. It, being the first half of a two-parter, was set-up heavy but it did that really well. The fact that the Silurians are one of my top three Who 'monsters' and The Silurians a story I've not only always loved but which had a huge impact on the tiny girl who watched it all those years ago. The story that gave us the monsters have a POV too and that others were here first. This one has also got a lot of Inferno in its digging into the planet and opening up threats DNA, which works great, as I love that serial too. If the second part can live up to the parent serials, we should have the worthy new chapter in the story of the Earth Reptiles the Myrka mess denied Five. Though I'm pretty sure we will get another there should have been a better way death toll and someone - presumably Ambrose - will play the Brig and there will be a that was murder moment. Because that is the tragedy of the Silurians and Us. We're both made up of warriors and scientists, of those who will negotiate, those who'll viviscet, those who'll use and those who'll look the other way. Maybe the 21st Century will be when that changes. It'd be nice. But maybe we're ultimately too human, both us and our reptile counterparts/predecessors. And that's why they give us great stories - which hopefully this one will be.
