I do have to say that having Torchwood follow The Archers is giving me a slight case of Maximum Whiplash but that was much better - the pacing and cast balance especially. The attitudes of Empire in 1924 and Torchwood Cardiff collide and not only wackiness but a death count occur. More Jack backstory. The 'Of Course' moments of of course the Queen Empress Victoria, with her interest in India and Indian Servants would make sure there would be a Torchwood India, and that they would pick up the leftovers from The Abominable Snowmen and scavenge the yeti control spheres, as well as tiff of the era's music hall recitations.

I do have to say that I kept seeing the club we went to in Sri Lanka which seemed stuck in 1937 and the billiard table in the minor palace in Rajasthan that I'm sure still had the same chalk from the twenties for the setting, only this one had more marble.

Good Ianto snark, great Ianto-Gwen teamwork, Jack backstory personal and Torchwood-wise, batshit antagonist and an interesting use of sci-fi and the show's 'verse to collide then and now.

Definitely worth a listen.
