Who was lovely, giggly and very sweet. We actually saw him three times so a definite ASH fest. We were meeting up with the other people we were going the play with/get something to eat beforehand and ASH arrived and said hi to them, as they were regulars. My OMG It's Anthony Stewart Head/Deer in Headlights face was, I am told a picture (though mercifully unphotographed - unlike my OMG It's James Marsters/Deer in Headlights face on my Halloween photo aka the worst photo in existence). He was very nice and looked a bit nervous as it was the first night and the first time with an audience at all. He did very well.

Speaking of which, the pimp shirt has clearly escaped and is breeding. Richard E Grant was wearing a near relative of it when he came out of the stage door. I did tell him how much I enjoyed his performance, but most people were waiting for Tony, who was lovely, very appreciative and giggly. He signed programmes and so on and gave us all a peck on the cheek:)

Then we drove straight back to London as Lori had to go the airport first thing this morning. Even the English landscape and especially the rivers didn't want to let her go. We kept driving through banks of fog - which is really weird as I hardly ever see fog and a bit nerves inducing as I have barely ever driven in fog, especially on unlit motorways, and not helped by a service station with no petrol giving me that old I knew I should have filled up in Bath feeling. But the next one was ok and I was good, and responsible and drove within the conditions and got Lori and me home in one piece. The lovely capper though was that Virgin Radio's playlist as we drove home was basically taken from the soundtracks to our fics from the Collection to Samson and even appropriate fics for all of London Calling.

It was a lovely day and we were lucky with the traffic both ways really though. It was warmish and sunny for the drive down, so we got some gorgeous and very English views as we left the motorway and headed to the always gorgeous Bath. We scouted out the site of Spike and Wes's arrival in Eyes Only, walked up and down the hills eying shops and verse events potential, had a delicious Thai meal and a very enjoyable play with good actors and Lori survived my driving. I am now a bit knackered, especially after spending the morning trying to get my keyboard talking to the computer (now obviously managed) but watching the news. Keep safe all of you and yours in the way of Rita. I wish you were all safe over here, or in Bath enjoying the same as we had yesterday.

And in the spirit of irony, the Shakespeare meme:

This royal throne of kings, this scepter'd isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall,
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England

From Richard II, Act 2 (Shakespeare)
